Sebastian Arrechedera is considered one of the precursors of the independent agency movement in Mexico, which began in 2007, the year when he co-founded Arrechedera Claverol (AC), one of the most important independent agencies in the country. AC pioneered branded content and was acknowledged as the "Independent Agency of the Year" by the Internet Advertising Bureau, Mexico's Circulo Creativo, and the magazine Merca 2.0.
Sebastian graduated in graphic design from Caracas Design Institute, where he began his career as an art director. By 2000, one year after winning the Young Creatives competition at Cannes, he moved to Mexico as Creative Director for DDB. Shortly after his arrival, he was named Creative VP and member of the Regional Board.
Sebastian has developed many different social and cultural projects outside of advertising. In 2011, Sebastian started a stand-up comedy project called "Magico y Sensacional Cafe" in Mexico City, Bogota, and Caracas. Three years later, he created "El Efecto Eco" (@ElEFectoEco), a digital and film movement whose purpose was to promote freedom of speech and human rights in countries like Venezuela.
Sebastian has won three Cannes Lions and has been acknowledged by Adlatina as one of the 20 most important Latin creatives of the decade.
